A Cute Little Beach Project...

I love Sand...the textures, the colors, and feeling it gives you when you look at it and remember the great times you had there.

It's amazing how different the textures and colors of the sand are from beach to beach, region to region.

I get these old canning jars from farm auctions, relatively inexpensive. I also have some with the old style screw type zinc lids...but I loved the way that these clear glass lids and old metal bales looked.

I used jute twine and some cream colored price tags to write the year and the beach that the sand came from.

You could use these jars for tons of other collections...
More to come, so stay tuned!

Whats Old is New Again...

Ok....we purchased one of our first vintage pieces that we are going to re-purpose.

I was thrilled to find it...it is small but I think just the right size to fit in our current 1/2 bath which we are going to turn into a full bath. We found this on one of our latest buying/selling trips to the 50th Anniversary of Brimfield MA Antique Shows...

We are going to add a vessel type sink and a farm house style faucet....so stay tuned for the transformation to come...

It had some super paint & patina on it, green underneath and blue on top with a little bit of white. The open shelf will be great for a basket or just some rolled up towels.
The little drawer with the large vintage glass knob will work good for those bathroom smalls....
